Coil Executive Director Barry Muth

Executive Director

Having been physically disabled (quadriplegic), since 1999, Barry Muth’s key focus is to help the public and those with disabilities understand that anything is possible. Barry is often vocal about his personal philosophy; “The only limits that a person believes they have are in their own mind. I try to lead by example, this philosophy served me well in the military and I know it works in everyday life.” In the spring of 2003, Barry was part of a group of people with various disabilities to succeed in getting to the Base Camp on Mt. Everest. Mr. Muth also played an important role during the 2002-2003 Quad Rugby San Antonio Team Divison II Championship.

Barry is a WestPoint graduate with a B.S. in General Engineering and holds a M.S. in Business Organizational Management from the University of LaVerne. Barry was medically retired after eighteen years in the Army due to an accident while serving over in Saudi Arabia. Barry has stayed proactive in his community by serving as the Membership and Sports Director for the San Antonio sub-chapter of the Texas Paralyzed Association. His strong leadership has been essential to COIL’s mission, where he has served in various roles. Barry lives in San Antonio with his wife Dee, son’s Barry Jr., and Evan, and daughter Ashley.

Kimberly Biggs
Office Manager

Along with her social work and managerial experience, Kimberly Biggs has proven her passion in working for the betterment of individuals with disabilities. In the shadow of her retired USAF father, Kim gained knowledge and experience from a military perspective. Kim’s mother, who worked for Tesoro Petroleum for over thirty years, afforded Kim with an understanding of commitment and loyalty.

Educated at the University of Texas San Antonio, Kimberly has combined her previous work experience and education to assist in the collective goals of COIL. Kim’s strength and contributions to COIL are in her ability to work with veterans and their families; state and local agencies; managed health care professionals; and San Antonio’s community and business leaders.
